From archive: We now have 1,000 members!

Here is an important post of our group from our archive. I've posted the below discussion to the group on July, 2011. It's title is "Voila! -- Industrial Engineering in Turkey group now has ** 1,000 ** members". Original discussion is here.

---

Dear all,

Yes, we now have 1,000 members!! It took us roughly six months to double our group size from 500 members to 1,000 members.

We are among the biggest and most influential Linkedin groups of Turkey:
- We are in top-30 in terms of group size (among the Turkey-originated groups that have the keyword 'Turkey' in their introduction); and
- We are in top-15 in terms of growth (measured as new members added in last four weeks).

Besides, our standing improves day by day: Our growth rate averages around 10% every four weeks whereas others' average around 5%.

Let me share with you my prospects regarding our group size:
- 1,600 members by the end of 2011,
- 4,000 members by the end of 2012,
- 10,000 members by the end of 2013.

Some of you might think that becoming a group of 10,000 members in two and a half years is a tough target. In deed, it really is. Nevertheless,

- WE ARE A BIG COMMUNITY: I guess there are around 25,000 Turkish industrial engineers on the platform. Besides, we are open to everyone.
- OUR GROUP OFFERS REAL VALUE TO THE SOCIETY: Remember, our vision is feeding our society with rich industrial engineering perspectives.

These factors should lever our group up, and transform us from being a mid-sized group to becoming a big-sized one in the years ahead.

***

I strongly believe in the bright future of our group, and I will be working hard to add value to the group. Let’s work on this all together; I kindly ask three things from you:

1. This group is a huge asset for industrial engineering students and new-graduates, but usage of Linkedin is limited among them. If you are somehow connected to the academia, please do promote our group at your university.

2. Let’s promote our group at our personal networks: Share the discussions of our group at your social networks (as we are an open group, any discussion posted to the group is shareable on social networks such as facebook, twitter, or google+).

3. Our group address is http://www.linkedin.com/groups?about=&gid=2478520. Please consider forwarding this message to your network of friends.

Thank you for being a part of our group. We are richer with you.

Kind regards,

Ahmet Kara
